Mitchell, Susan K.
Susan K. Mitchell is the author of several books for children. Her picture books include Stone Pizza, The Rainforest Grew All Around, and the upcoming Kersplatypus (2008). She is also the author of fifteen non-fiction chapter books for late elementary and early middle school readers.
Since Susan is also a preschool teacher, she knows how to bring incredible energy and fun to author visits. Kids are treated to enthusiastic book readings, singing, and a little education thrown in for good measure! Both Rainforest and Kersplatypus meet many of the TEKS standards for K-5th grade. Susan is also very familiar with TEKS Writing Workshop and helps students of all ages discover and demystify the wonderful world of writing.
