Winner of a Golden Kite for Space Station Science
(Scholastic/Windward), and the prestigious American Institute of
Physics Science Writing Award for Home on the Moon
(National Geographic, 2003), Marianne Dyson knows firsthand that
space motivates kids to read, experiment, and write about what
they've learned and imagined.
Marianne shares insiders' knowledge and her
passion for space with audiences through interactive science
presentations, demonstrations, and workshops. A role model for
young scientists, she has a degree in physics and was one of the
first ten women flight controllers for NASA.
Marianne is also
the author of Homework Help on the Internet
(Scholastic), The Space Explorer's Guide to Stars &
Galaxies (book 8 of Scholastic's Space University
series), and short stories in Girls to the Rescue Book 7
(Meadowbrook), Eat My Martian Dust
(Baker), and 4Frontiers Corporation's new online anthology (see "Martian Mice" at www.crazy4mars.com/stories2.html). Her most recent book, Space and
Astronomy: Decade by Decade, a nonfiction reference for ages 12 and up, was published in June 2007 by Facts On File. Visit her web site, www.mdyson.com to read free samples of her work, explore the animated Moon map, and test your space knowledge with crossword and wordfind puzzles.
