An experienced teacher/librarian in Katy, Spring, and Conroe, Dede has presented at TLA, the SHSU YA Conference, the JCC Houston Book Fair, GHARC, and numerous school and public libraries.  Her publications include The Treasure in the Tiny Blue Tin (Texas history novel), Spring Expressions (poetry), and Rand McNally’s Texas (teachers’ pages).  Her manuscript Bomb Scare received the 2002 Joan Lowery Nixon Award.
