Kathy Combs co-authored Cowboy Sam and Those Confounded Secrets (Clarion, 2001, Publisher’s Weekly Starred Review) and
The Foot-Stomping Adventures of Clementine Sweet (Clarion, 2004). These Texas Tall Tales are sprinkled with colorful alliterations and “Texasisms.” Kathy has also published adult articles in national magazines and has helped judge the Young Fiction Writers Contest for The Houston Chronicle. She has taught creative writing, journalism, and ESL in a Texas junior high. She presents using a PowerPoint show with personal photos, a Cowboy Sam-sized hat, and a slangy, twangy Texas accent.
