Carmen Bredeson is the author of 60 nonfiction books about everything from tide pool critters to space exploration. She gives an entertaining presentation about how astronauts live and work in space (including the bathroom part) and brings along space food and pictures.

After the Last Dog Died, is the story of Douglas Mawson's harrowing 1911-1914 Antarctic expedition. The National Geographic book received a 2003 Golden Kite Honor Book Award. Some of Carmen's other books include Pluto, John Glenn: Space Pioneer and Tide Pools. Animals That Migrate received the Best Juvenile Book Award from the Texas Institute of Letters in 2001.
